Tattoo Aftercare Guidance

A tattoo is only as good as its heal. Get a personal healing plan, a full aftercare kit and free check-ins until your piece is settled.

Every skin heals differently

Dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, sun-ready shoulders versus inner arms — the same tattoo needs different care on different bodies. That's why we don't hand out generic instructions.

Your artist writes a plan for your piece: what to wash with, how often to moisturize, when to train again, and exactly what to watch for — then checks your healing at two and six weeks, free.

What's included

01

Personal healing plan

Written instructions matched to your skin type, placement and ink density — not a photocopied handout.

02

Aftercare kit included

Every session leaves with fragrance-free wash, healing balm and second-skin wrap where appropriate.

03

Free healing check-ins

Send photos or stop by at two and six weeks. We check every piece we ink, free of charge.

04

Touch-up assessment

If anything settles unevenly within the first year, assessment and touch-up work are on us.

Your healing timeline

01

Days 1–3: protect

Keep the second skin on, sleep clean, hands off. Light swelling and warmth are normal.

02

Days 4–14: moisturize

Thin layers of balm, lukewarm showers, no soaking, no gym, no sun. Flaking means it's working.

03

Weeks 3–6: settle

The tattoo looks cloudy, then sharp again as skin finishes regenerating. Keep up SPF once healed.

04

Week 6+: check in

Send us healed photos or stop by. We assess and schedule any touch-up if one is needed.

Healing questions

The surface heals in two to three weeks, but full settling takes about six. Color and fine line can look cloudy around week three — that's normal and temporary.

Avoid soaking (pools, baths, ocean) for at least two weeks and skip heavy sweating for the first week. Light movement is fine once the second skin comes off.

Fragrance-free wash and a simple healing balm — both in the kit we give you. Avoid petroleum-heavy ointments, scented lotions and DIY remedies.

Peeling and light flaking around days 5–10 is exactly what healing looks like. Don't pick or scratch; let it shed and keep moisturizing thinly.

Worried about a healing tattoo — even one done elsewhere? Send photos, we'll advise honestly.
