Flash designs covering the studio wall at Saltbone Ink Parlor

About the parlor

A studio built around your story

Saltbone Ink Parlor opened its doors fourteen years ago with one machine, two chairs and a simple rule: no flash off the wall unless it means something to the person wearing it.

From a two-chair shop to Charleston's custom studio

What started as a walk-in shop on Harbor Lane grew the slow way — one healed tattoo at a time. Clients came back with friends, friends came back with sleeves, and the shop grew into a team of resident and guest artists covering fine line, blackwork, realism, Japanese and traditional work.

We still run on the same rule. Every piece starts with a conversation, every design is drawn for one body only, and nobody is rushed through the chair. That is why more than twelve hundred clients have trusted us with their first tattoo — and their fiftieth.

03

Honest counsel

If a design won't age well at that size or placement, we'll tell you — and redraw it.
